A 71-year-old man from Alaska was arrested at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport with over $400,000 worth of heroin and methamphetamine hidden inside his checked luggage. When security officials searched Cenen Placencia's 47-pound fish box, they discovered it was filled with frozen goat meat.

Placencia told officials he bought the goat from a farmer for $140, and that he packed the meat himself. Officials noticed the meat did not look like it was packed for human consumption and noted that it started to smell rancid as it thawed. Hidden inside one of the intestines officials found ten balls of duct tape, which contained a total of 740 grams of heroin and 389 grams of methamphetamine.

Placencia was taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. He faces up to 40 years in prison if he is convicted.

This is not the first time he has used an animal carcass to smuggle drugs. According to USA Today, he previously used a lamb carcass to smuggle drugs and was arrested in March after authorities found 247 grams of heroin, 13 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and $2,300 in his home.
