Why Damon Dash is Being Sued for $50 Million

According to The Wrap, the media mogul is being accused of sexual assault by a photographer he hired for a project for his fashion venture, Poppington.

Monique Bunn was contracted to work for Dash in April 2019 and per the report, after wrapping the first day of shooting, she spent the night at Dash and his girlfriend’s home. She traveled from out of state for the job. Arrangements were made for her to stay in Dash’s daughter’s room.

Legal filings state that Dash came into the room in the middle of the night and began touching Bunn without her consent.

“While Bunn was sleeping, Dash approached Bunn and placed his hand on Bunn’s breasts and placed hands/fingers on Bunn’s buttocks. Dash did not have the permission or consent to touch Bunn’s sexual organs. Dash was wearing a robe and had no underwear on. Dash had been drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana all day.”

The complaint also says that she was able to get Dash off of her body and threatened to fight him, prompting him to leave. Bunn remained at the home overnight but couldn’t sleep.
She says the following day, Dash attempted to gloss things over by saying a deal was in the works to create a docuseries about her work with WEtv, but she concluded it was a lie. “The reality of the situation is that Dash did not have a deal with WETV associated with Bunn and only wanted to keep Bunn silent about the events of April 18, 2019.”
